usually they will get about 50-80% at 1/4 gpm 10 gal test rate. When testing these old meters on the bench, its common to find they fail badly at 1/4 gallon a minute flow rates, sometimes as bad as 0 Gpm. These meters use magnetically coupled chambers to registers. later in early 1970s Rockwell went to a complete plastic chamber. The original SR series used a brass outer measuring chamber, which made the meter much heavier. This meter has a date code of march 1968, any RED register rockwell SR that i have found in service have always been in the late 50s to early 70s, but the bulk of them that i have removed from service are from the late 1960s SR series 1950s-mid 80s SR stands for "Sealed Register" meaning magnetically coupled.
